The
Niagara River Lions are one of the original six teams of the CEBL, which has
now expanded to 10 teams across Canada. Playing out of the Meridian Centre in
downtown St. Catharines during the spring and summer months, the River Lions
represent the twelve municipalities of the Niagara Region while living up to
the River Lions moniker of pride and strength of community.
Canada Games Park proudly hosts some of the teams pickup league practices, in addition to kids camps. Examples include 'Fall PA Day Sessions' and 'Holiday Hoops'. These sessions are for children of diverse age ranges and include playing and learning basketball from River Lions athletes.
With a unique
"horseshoe" set-up in the Lion's Den (at the Meridian Centre), every seat in the house allows
fans to be as close as possible to the non-stop action and high level
basketball. Join #TheHunt as the River Lions compete for the 2023 CEBL
Championship starting in May 2023.
