Legacy of Our Venue

Canada Games Park and The Walker Sports and Abilities Centre was a legacy project built for the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games.

Our VISION is to provide a welcoming environment that allows people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and identities, to learn and connect, in the pursuit of their passion for sport, recreation, physical and social wellbeing.

Our MISSION is to provide the most comprehensive, inclusive and progressive recreation, sport and wellness facilities in the Niagara Region. This will be achieved through compelling programming, service excellence and sustainable stewardship.

Canada Games Park is located adjacent to Brock University and consists of two convertible ice pads, a gymnasium with four NBA courts, a health and wellbeing centre and a 200-meter indoor track. Outside, there are six competition sized beach volleyball courts, and a track-and-field facility including a full 400-meter track and areas for all field sports.

Canada Games Park is a gathering place that allows people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, identities and financial means, to learn and connect, in the pursuit of their passion for sport, recreation, physical, mental and social wellbeing.

In recognition of a generous $3-million dollar donation gifted by the Walker family, the 210,000 square foot sport-and-recreation building at CGP was named the Walker Sports and Abilities Centre, along with the north entry plaza, which is known as the 'Walker Founders Plaza'
